Life-changing: the Imire Volunteer Programme The Imire Volunteer Programme is a hands-on programme, which allows you to become completely immersed in wildlife and everything to do with it. You will never be closer to nature than on the Imire Safari Ranch. Imire Safari Ranch offers a truly unique opportunity - to live amongst and share in the daily experiences of an African game reserve. Volunteers live in close contact with black rhino, elephants, buffalo and other species of wild animal on a 10,000 acre Conservancy. Witness incredible animal relationships, hearing their sounds, record vital ecological information, and learn to appreciate true simplicity from working with local communities. Rhino Dehorning Apart from getting involved in the wildlife, (rhino and elephant particularly), volunteers also help out with the cattle on the ranch, together with any chores such as bush clearance, fence and road repair. Any research project you have in mind will be catered for; we can ably assist you. Imire plays a vital role in the rural school and community. All volunteers are required to help in the primary and secondary school with informal teaching as well as helping in the gardening and conservation projects. Imire provides a wonderful life-changing experience in a safe family environment. Every volunteer makes a real difference, not only to Imire and her wildlife, but to the poorer community alongside whom we live.
